Do you need a specific tool set to do work on BMW?

I was wondering if there is a specific tool set that is required to do routine maintenance on a 06 BMW 325xi. I'm thinking of purchasing one but I heard a while back that you need a tool set by BMW to do repairs. By routine maintenance I mean, brakes, oil, spark plugs, filters, sensors, ect. No, tool sets have a range of variety in it. also everyset will suit pretty much every car. Just buy a middle range tools or better.
