How do i manually release the softop of a bmw convertible?

I cant find the release handle .

It's supposed to be on the left rear passenger side , which is the drivers rear passenger side.How do i manually release the softop of a bmw convertible?Please read your owner's manual if you have one.

I wish you mentioned the year of the car. But I can guess what it is. To release the rear soft top compartment lid/cover, look at the rear seat left side trim/cover (not underneath the seat, but on the side where you position your left elbow). There is

supposed to be a small lever in there that you pull.

So much for the rear compartment...

If your top is manual and not automatic, of course you know that the front simply has to be unlocked manually.

But if it is an automatic/electric top, then you have to remove the plastic cover in the middle of the front cowl, and insert a small allen socket into a small hole in there, then turn it

till kingdom come for the top to open ever so slowly.
