What should i do to increase the performance and power of my 1997 bmw z3 1.9L?

I bought a 1997 bmw z3 1.9L with 80,000 miles just a few months ago. Im trying to find the best way to increase the performance and power, manly power. I was think about a turbo kit or a supercharger. Not sure which one would be better. Plus, those small engine versions have a much narrower track in the back than the stronger ones. Check out the euro tuners, and see what they have to offer, but it is far from cheap.
