Sure, BMW want to focus on greener strategies, but does that mean you won't follow formula 1 anymore?
Which team are you most likely to support, if you still intend on watching F1...Any BMW fans out there? How do you feel about the news they are pulling out?I think it has more to do with where Bernie is holding the races. Car companies like BMW want races where they can sell cars.
There is no F1 race in one of BMW's biggest market, the US. There is not even a race in North American this year with Montreal being dropped. It's no wonder BMW and Honda pulled out.Any BMW fans out there? How do you feel about the news they are pulling out?BMW are pulling out cos they arent winning. As to their green policy its all about fat profits for an ailing manufacturer.A very average motor car and no better than the flag ship Avensis..FactAny BMW fans out there? How do you feel about the news they are pulling out?I'm not necessarily a Formula BMW fan, but I am a BMW street car fan. Each of the first two posters got a piece of it. Profits, market exposure (leading to sales), etc.
In the history of F-1 there has been much ingress and egress of teams and manufacturers. Manufacturers' involvement is usually for one or two main reasons; product development and exposure. Bottom line is, of course, the bottom line. Dollars. Euros. Pounds. Moolah! So decisions will be driven by monetary considerations. Just gotta live with it.
My bet is that if history is any indicator, sooner or later, they'll be back. Of course the question is, how much longer before that happens? Who knows? All a part of the mystery of Formula One...
Which team/manufacturer to support? Although I appreciate the quality of Ferrari, they're not my team. McLaren and Brawn have my attention this season. Would like to see Button take Brawn to the '09 championship.Any BMW fans out there? How do you feel about the news they are pulling out?
Just because BMW has left, doesn't mean that people will stop watching.
The same story with Honda.
Whenever a team leaves it is blown out of all proportion. They weren't winning. They weren't scoring points. They didn't have amazing drivers, and they got their one win through the misfortune of others!
Hopefully, this has made a space for ProDrive, as I really wanted to see them racing next year :/
