What is the longevity of a 1998 bmw 528i?

I am interested in buying a '98 528i. It has 200,000 miles on it though. It's my first bmw, what kind of miles (with good maintainence) can these cars realisticly handle. I'd like to put at least 100,000 on itWhat is the longevity of a 1998 bmw 528i?You can easily make another 100,000, only if you maintain it well and dont "trash" it, you will need to have regular oil changes, sparkplugs and also always make sure the coolant and water is topped up in the radiator, also you will need to break fluid and it will be fine. Thanks hope you enjoy the car if you decide to buy it.What is the longevity of a 1998 bmw 528i?I have a 1994 325is not as fast as the 5 series but still fun. I drive my car to pieces. I change the oil myself but forgot to tighten the oil filter one time. I drove it on the highway for an hour then while idling at the off-ramp noticed the loss of power and the ticking noise. My car is still going strong after I added oil. They take a beating. They have 2 frames, brake ducts for extended life, metal water pumps and rock solid suspension. No other car manufacturer bothers with brake ducts except race cars.

Just change the stuff that ages like rubber components, bushings, cvs, guidos, belts, etc

and drive it like a bmw, pass everyone in sight and pretend it's the autobahnWhat is the longevity of a 1998 bmw 528i?At 200,000 miles, the car engine parts can easily break down but, if the car is properly maintained and not abused. I say you can make another 100,000, but if the engine or transmission ever broke down before, you'll probably won't get that 100,000 unless you fix the problem when it occurs again.
