I just bought a 2001 BMW 7 series from a dealer and the Automatic Stability Control light came on when I was sitting idle. Should I dump this car or should I not worry? There's a reason the dealer sold you such a nice car for $10k.



I'm really just ranting here, sick and tired of people asking me if it's a good idea to buy that '98 m3 or that 7 series bmw.



As for answering your questions, dealerships usually charge $160 JUST to diagnose the car.

I'd take it to an indepedent bmw shop, where they it'll be way cheaper.

You're car has a pretty advanced computer that can pin-point problems so an indy shouldn't have too hard of a time finding the problem.
