How much is it to fix an oil pan gasket on my BMW?
Hi everyone. So Im 23 and I saved up money and bought my second car cash. I bought a 2004 BMW 325ci but it has an oil leak and nit needs a new oil pan gasket. I'm kinda broke but when people see the car they assume I have money and give me ridiculous quotes. How much do you think it will cost me to get the oil pan gasket replaced. I'm located in Massachusetts so if your local that would be great..How much is it to fix an oil pan gasket on my BMW?you should be able to get done for $150How much is it to fix an oil pan gasket on my BMW?Many times, this problem is simply a matter of tightening the existing pan bolts. Usually, on Euro-based cars, the pan gasket will last for the lifetime of the car, UNLESS you have benn using an improper oil, or dino based oil. The correct oil for you will state on the label, "designed for use in BMW vehicles." It is also possible, and likely, that your oil pressure relief valve is clogging up, causing extra oil pressure, and engine is leaking from this additional pressure. Use a good de-sludging chemical, like Amsoil Crankcase cleaner, and then begin using ELF oil (which makes a special product for use EXCLUSIVELY in BMW Engines), Mobil One 0W-40, Pennzoil Ultra, or German Castrol (green oil). The cleaner will re-vitalize your existing engine seals, relief valve, and internally wash the pan gasket surfaces. I have run across this problem as well. Usually if you offer $20 to a Jiffy Lube employee, they will be happy to re-tighten the pan gasket bolts, Make SURE that they loosen them a little bit first. CASE SOLVED!!!thai recipes
